Busy near Wittering

Just come up the A1 and saw what looked like from a distance the red arrows finnishing a display over the wittering area. As we passed heard lots of jet noise but saw no aircraft. anyone know what i missed? Loads of parked cars and people with cameras on the bridge north of wittering so it must have been sort of expected. Thanks
