Damn it! not been on recently & missed all the fun!

… anyway WISIWYG try this one for size (sorry, couldn’t find a picture of two?!):D

As a female, personally I have no problem with images like this (after all, I’ve got two of what Jordon’s got, only not quite as overinflated as hers, so I’m not going to get too excited about seeing a pair of breasts:p) I’ve never been able to see why women get so worked up about girls like Jordan, and porn in general…I don’t buy the argument that porn exploites women full stop…yes, I am sure it happens, but I am pretty sure that a huge number of women who go into the porn industry do so with their eyes wide open, and do very well for themselves financially…

Although I certainly did not have a hippy upbringing (my parents were pretty firm but fair) my mother in particular taught me not to have hang-ups about my body, and other people’s bodies…male or female…to me a pair of naked breasts is just that…ditto the male lunch box…seen one, you’ve seen them all really…maybe I’m not right in the head, but these sort of pics just don’t seem obscene to me…

Obscene is child porn, animal porn, extreme torture, Gareth Gates…not a picture of Jordon’s breasts…

HOWEVER… I do agree this forum is maybe not the place for images like this (as wysiwig has already agreed) as some of our members are under 16 (although I bet some of them have already got their hands on a magazine or two already :))

…which is exactly why I said in both my first 2 posts on this thread that it was right to go. I have absolutely no disagreement with not upsetting the masses. What I do disagree with is creation of a group of imaginary alter egos to create the impression of ‘the masses’ by an individual. That is a form of genteel fraud.

Comet/VLM flyer.

We are used to you using both of those names and as you say there is nothing wrong with that. You are open and honest about it. However I am sure that in the past we have had people using multiple identities for more sinister purposes, for making personal and abusive attacks on other members. To me that is far more dangerous than an avatar of admittedly questionable taste.

Further on this topic, if I want to post with two user names, then I will, it doesn’t hurt anyone else and it’s only done for a bit of fun, there’s no harm in it.

Comet/VLMflyer – as Ren points out, the connection with the three ‘engineers’ really is a bit too obvious! By the way, it just so happens that EdmundHalley uses the phrase ‘Number one COMET chaser’ under his name and VLMflyer uses ‘Number one VLM fan’. Follow this train of thought – Edmund Halley who discovered Halleys COMET. Bearing in mind you also have a thread running about multiple user names it looks like you’re as guilty as a puppy sitting next to a pile of pooh! 😉

But the wonderful thing about this thread is that the complainers are giving it even more airplay!!! I had to laugh when I saw that the post has been transferred to this forum and even more so that the picture has been removed from the original post EVEN THOUGH THERE WERE ALL THOSE WARNINGS NOT TO LOOK IF YOU ARE OFFENDED!!!

I know this is going off the Avatar subject a bit but I wanted to say excellent photos Ren Frew. What a beautiful terminal inside as well. Surely they could have done something to save it. I last flew through Abbotsinch in March 1968 in a British United Airways
Viscount Southampton – Glasgow – Edinburgh and return. Those were the days!!!

The avator is gone already

This pic shows the new Glasgow Airport shortly after opening in 1966. To the top right of the picture you can just make out Renfrew Airport, on this day a fair few planes took off from Renfrew and landed at Glasgow to begin the new services from Abbotsinch.

This runway is now the M8 motorway between junctions 26 and 27.

And in it’s fifties heyday…

Do they still use the same runway ?

The tarmac ripped up…

There was a massive outcry from the people of Renfrew when they knocked down the old airport buildings. There had been plans to preserve the terminal as a museum for the town. Instead Tesco’s built a supermarket on top of it and *that* really epitomises the “tin shed” school of architecture.
