A very sad day, I am sure, for many many people …. to see the BMI baby fleet flying into storage ! Even the local sky produced “fifty shades of grey” for the event.

G-TOYD “Surf’s up Baby”
G-TOYH “Baby of the North”

G-OBMP “Robin Hood Baby”
G-TOYL “Rainbow Baby”
A few of the arrivals ….. Keith 🙁

Is it back to the lessors for these or were they owned?

Guess they will in time, but were engine running yesterday 20/09

That is a sad pic there. I am surprised that the engine covers haven’t been fitted.

A sad, but quality, image Keith. The cabin crews on the flights I used seemed really cheerful, and to be enjoying what they were doing. I always think that the saddest part of an airline folding, is what it does to those who worked for it. I hope those cheerful and enthusiastic cabin crew, and indeed the pilots, can find the same kind of work again.

MSR777 ! How nice ! If you pop up to Norwich we still have eight all waiting for some TLC and a new owner ?
Another view of the line up, from the other end of the airport, slightly changed since day one ! No engine blanks fitted ? Maybe not needed yet ??

Ok, I can admit it now. On one of my trips with baby, I treated myself to one of the little plush ‘Tiny’ toys, and a snap fit model 737. I guess they might become rare now, but I shan’t be parting with mine. So long baby, you’ll be missed:(

Sad indeed. I saw two of them in Palma earlier in the day on the 9th.

If it was Ryanair they’d probably be made to walk. 😀
Sad to see baby gone though.

Thanks you gentlemen ! Yes so sad ! I have heard, may not be true, that the crews were ferried back from NWI by coach ! Sign of the economic times I suppose !

Nice set there, but ashame to see them go to Norwich and Lasham for storage. I really had hoped baby would be saved but with BA in charge of BMI and Baby being based outside of the trash pit that is west London (I lived in Southall for most of my life, it truely is trash) I guess it was always going to go this way. It’s also sad now as it only leaves Ryanair and Easyjet as lowco’s, and sort of jet2 (im not sure what they are really)
