C-47 44-77277 / G-APPJ info needed

As a part of an on – going research program, I need to fill in some holes in this aircraft´s history. It made an emergency landing close to Keflavik AFB on the 1st. of October 1956, and was damaged in the process. It is next noted as joining the UK civil register as Dakota IV G-APPJ registered to: Field Aircraft Services Limited, 72 Wign_ _ _ Street, London W.1 on the 3rd of October 1958

What I would like to know, is what happened in the intervening two years and how did Field aircraft Services Limited come to own the aircraft? Was it direct from the US. Air Force or from a third party?
What kind of company was Field Aircraft Services Limited – was it a broker, or an operator? Did it have any connection with Vickers?

The aircraft was deregistered by the UK CAA on the 6th of February 1959 as 9G-AAC and later it became 5N – ATB. If someone has the complete story with dates, I would be a happy man!

Regards,
Sigurjon
