I totally agree, Papa Lima. I’m a Brit living over here, and I’ve found that most people are very pleasant and courteous (except on the roads ;)).
As with anywhere, there are a few idiots who give the others a bad name.

Manston Airport, I must say that on both my visits to the USA, 3 weeks each in 2003 and 2004, I was treated with the utmost courtesy and consideration, including a genuine Oshkosh baseball cap for sparing a few minutes of my time to help someone, and on another occasion being given lunch at the home of our tour coach driver, not to mention an hour long spin on one of his 4-wheel drive “chariots” when he invited me to his home the following year.
Not all Yanks are ungrateful, by any means!

I think that this lack of gratitude is very poor and is not what I would expect from Americans in general.
Deftinitely got their priorities in the wrong order! Don’t forget to check out Paul’s (Skippyscage) photos, very good.

Had a very interesting talk yesterday by one of the crew members – the flight went very well and no major problems with the aircraft. The only negative aspect was on arriving at Orange County the crew were basically told to ‘clear out their gear asap because we are playing golf later’ – not so much as a thank you or a well done for getting an old aircraft some 5000 miles in a very short space of time with no snags.
I think that this lack of gratitude is very poor and is not what I would expect from Americans in general.

Real shame to see N47FK head west – have had a brief taxi in her after helping to repaint her when she was at Lee on Solent.
