C-FETB Touches down at Trenton, Ontario

Pratt & Whitney Canada’s Boeing 720 C-FETB was flown into CFB Trenton on April 25 to be preserved by the National Airforce Museum of Canada as part of their collection at Trenton.

For those not familiar with this aircraft it is essentially a 5 engined model with the nose engine being generally a small turboprop being flight tested. It has been flying in this configuration since 1988. It replaced an ex Air Canada Viscount soing the same job.

Thought you might be interested.

Bill

Thanks for the update and pics, Turretboy. She looks good but hopefully they haven’t mislaid the rudder.

The Herc is often available for “walk-throughs’ whenever they have enough volunteers to monitor activities.

Thanks Mike:
I last visted the Trenton museum in June. One of the volunteer guides told me that C-FETB and the Hercules was to be opened as ‘Walk through’ exhibits at the ‘As Astra’ event in August. I guess that didn’t happen.

Thanks for the update. I passed by the museum tonight and wondered when it would be moved into the park.

Just an update on C-FETB. I visited the RCAF museun at Trenton June 15. The 720 is still located on the active side of the base. But a concrete base is currently being prepared for it in the display area. She will be moved to the museum compound in time for “Ad Astra” day, at Trenton August 25th.

The Hudson restoration is proceding well. Lots of parts on site.

Interesting as this was last recorded as being stored in Tel Aviv!

Yes, I noticed that but it has been parked up at Luanda for a long time.
