So they have moved the Azores?:D

well yes, i meant obviously they were lucky too that that azores lay in front of them too and they got there ok…:D
i woz wondering if a smaller winged a/c would have made it though?
over 110 miles?

ie 767 or 757 or 737 ? which are all regular etop T/A flyers.

anyone know?
has it been sim’d on other a/c types in the same situ/locations scenario as air transat a330?

cheers

18 very long minutes…. Ground distance (in fact over water!) was around 110-120 miles.

i though the a330 of air transat in the azores fuel leak incident glided for about 40 minutes? no>?

or am i wrong here? yes i am …. it was about 20 mins with no power (i just googled hehe)

the whole incident of the fuel leak/imbalance was around an hour leading to one engine out then 13 mins later losing the second one and flying almost 20 mins without any engine power to the (hard and rather fast) safe landing, not my idea of early morning fun over the south atlantic but a nice big wing prob saved em

How long did the A330 fly for as a glider?

Have they got space for a BA 777 in the ‘Musee de Glide’ ? 😀

Can that be classed as a glide though? How long did the A330 fly for as a glider? But maybe an Ex BA 747-200 can go there if there room 😀

I hope it goes to the national collection in Ottawa and while there – it can wait a few years for another certain twin engine A330 glider to join it so we can have a pair of Boeing and Airbus gliders! 🙂

FYI: I’ve flown on both these aircraft. Once to Calgary on the 767 and once to Cuba on the 330.
