Apparently they will be deployed to Swiss to replace Avros.

The absolute cramped maximum of 737-300s (which Jet2 has) is said to be 149. The same absolute maximum for CS300 is 145. Not a big decrease.
Very fair point. And thinking about it, I have a recollection that the C-300 may ahve been advertised with 149 seats. Well spotted….I must be having a blond day (and look at me praising chornedsnorkack…it must be a cold day in hell :dev2::p)

The aircraft would appear too small for their normal operating patterns. Unless they’re branching out into smaller aircraft like Air Berlin (who are reviewing ERJs and C-Series at the moment).

Jet2 to become a launch customer. 737’s will have to replaced due to new EU enviromental laws soon.
HUGE rumour

E-195 can carry 122 seats single class, see
http://www.embraercommercialjets.com/english/content/ejets/emb_195.asp?tela=layouts
Compare maximum 125 seats of CS100
E-195AR has 2200 nm range with 108 seats. Compare 2200 nm range of CS100.
So, they are accomplishing equal missions…

I’ve been flying with LOT a bit, lately. And their Embraer 170 and 190 are no bad planes. Didn’t Embraer also want to expand into the 100-150 seats market?
They are in the 100-150 seat market at the moment, albeit the lower end of the scale, their E-195 has a maximim capacity of 118 passengers. Perhaps someone more technically minded would know whether they think it could be stretched further (at least as an interim larger aircraft), my guess is there must be scope for that?

How many customers does Dornier 728 have?
Wrong tense. 😉 Fairchield Dornier did have 125 orders for the aircraft before they went bankrupt in 2003.

Hopefully other than with the 747-8 and Dornier 728 where LH was the launch customer other customers will follow soon.
How many customers does Dornier 728 have?
Cseries looks a bit like Dornier 728. Two underwing engines. Cabin width is 325 cm on 728 (12 cm wider than DC-9. 17 cm narrower than BAe 146), 3 cm wider (328 cm) on Cseries. Then again, Sukhoi Superjet 100 is also like Dornier 728, with 323 cm wide cabin (2 cm narrower than 728).

Hopefully other than with the 747-8 and Dornier 728 where LH was the launch customer other customers will follow soon. I believe the CSeries has a lot of potential.

C130 was also renamed to CS300. No orders, but Lufthansa still has 30 options of Cseries.
Cseries is delayed, as the EIS date of CS100 is 2014.
