C47 / DC3 / Dakota Etc Schematic / Cutaway

Hello everyone,

I’m after a bit of a favour if possible, please – Has anyone got a cutaway picture of a C47 / DC3 that they would be willing/able to email me? I’d like to get one printed and mounted as a present for an old friend who has a passion for this particular aircraft but can’t find a suitable image on-line anywhere. I was sure that if such a thing exists in electronic form then I would possibly track it down here.

Many thanks in advance!

Simon R.

Perhaps I didn’t make myself clear…the images I posted are non-copyright and from a postwar official pilot’s manual.

Sorry – I’d read your reply on my phone and didn’t realise that you’d uploaded such hi-res scans. They’re just what I was after! Many thanks indeed 🙂

Cheers also to Longshot, much appreciated.

J Boyle – Yeah – that’s exactly the sort image I was after, but I think maybe finding a hi-resolution version that’s not copyrighted may be the problem.
Maybe getting hold of a wartime-type manual and taking a cheeky scan of the relevant page might be a good way of doing it. It would look nice and authentic as well…

Cheers for the replies, chaps!

Longshot – yeah, I’d seen that one but sadly it’s ruled out because all the txt is in Russian. Otherwise it would have been perfect.

Jeepman and J Boyle – Yeah – that’s exactly the sort image I was after, but I think maybe finding a hi-resolution version that’s not copyrighted may be the problem.

Cheers for now for the ideas 🙂

Your friendly local printshop will make it into something laminated and desirable

I’m sure you’re looking for something similar to the cover of the Haynes Book or an old Aeroplane cutaways, but here’s something (non copyright) from my father’s USAF C-47 Flight manual.
