Cabin crew shadowing

Thanks to a friend who works as a Purser at easyJet I’ve spent the last two days shadowing an Edinburgh based crew which included a night stop at STN. It was really great experience getting an insight into what to expect when I qualify (hopefully) next year with my ATPL.

I was amazed at how hard the cabin crew worked. Yesterday we had some very serious problems before departing EDI for our first sector. As you’ve probably read we were lacking the new insurance documents due to an admin error down at LTN. This added a lot of stress to a normally usually sector down to STN.

We read so many reports about grumpy cabin crew etc, but yesterday gave me a real insight into how hard these guys and girls work, and despite the stress the girls on the flight were under they still managed to keep smiling despite an onboard eye injury that needed attention, problems with the Stansted Express tickets they sold onboard and the now famous insurance issue.

I certainly know that after yesterday I appreciate how well these guys do, never again will I refer to them as trolly dolly’s!!!
