cabin pressure in various aircraft

does anyone know what altitude equivalent cabin pressure is maintainted in a320 and dhc q400 planes during typical flight? I am especially interested in the difference between the cabin pressure of the two said planes.

I fly the Q400s for a living and as 27vet says the cabin altitude at FL250 is 8,000ft and the normal differential is 5.46psi +/- 0.1psi. The Max psi before a cabin pressure warning is 5.95.
The taxying, take off & landing differential limit is 0.5psi.

It depends on the cruising altitude which will depend on the length of the flight and a few other factors. Are you going scuba diving?

The Dash 8 has a differential of 5.5psi. When cruising at 25,000′, the Dash 8 can maintain a cabin altitude of 8,000′. When at 20,000′, the cabin altitude will be 5,000′ unless the crew has selected higher for some or other reason.

The A320 has a differential of 8.5psi and can maintain an 8,000′ cabin at 39,000′ altitude. If they fly lower with the pressurization in auto mode, the controller keeps it at 8.5psi and the cabin altitude will be lower.

Hope this helps.

so… there arent any figures published in public for those two airplanes? I really need to know, i am asking purely for medical reasons. Is there a difference in cabin pressure for a320 and q400? My body would guess there is but i need to know for sure… are we talking about a 10% difference or more?

Cabin altitudes are typically around 7,000′ – 8,000′ when aircraft are at cruising altitude. The cabin altitude is a function of the the actual altitude of the plane and the pressure differential. The B787 has a cabin altitude of 6’000′.

They both cruise at different altitudes, so there isn’t a fair comparison between the two mentioned aircraft. The dash8 cruises about 10 thousand feet lower.
