Just had a quick browse through the inventory on Courtesy, and there are some real rarities advertised at the moment. Most recently added is CAC CA-13 Boomerang A46-139/N32CS, which has had something of a low profile in the last few years.

Makes you wish you had a good few grand to spare!

Please note that when opening the link in XM692’s posting it contained a virus. Probably best to delete the link XM. Regards Brian.:(
No virus here. It’s Matt Denning’s Boomerang website, so it’s certainly not a malicious website….

I see no virus. Maybe your scanner freaks out on the flash intro?

Hi all,
This one’s certainly not a genuine Boomerang (although it reportedly contains a select few original parts), but still remains very nice. It’s probably best described as a converted T-6, as suggested by Fouga23. Both Boomerangs completed by Sanders had metal skinned rear fuselages, as opposed to the fabric covered timber shell as original. The former Zuccoli Boomerang did however have an original Boomerang rear fuselage steel tube frame internally, where I believe this replica actually still uses the T-6/Harvard aluminium monocoque rear fuselage. I’m led to believe, but have never been able to confirm, that the fuselage of this replica is a bit longer than original. If this is the case then it would likely be due to the different front fuselage framework and the all aluminium rear fuselage.
The exhaust set up appears alright to me, however it does have a representative version of the early style exhaust fitted (possibly a modified Harvard exhaust), where the specific aircraft it represents would have had the flame dampening exhaust fitted from the factory.
So no it’s not an authentic Boomerang, however it would still be a great fun machine, and as James pointed out, you could take a friend along for the experience. I must say however James, that a genuine Boomerang will actually be capable of taking along an extra within the very near future.
Cheers,
Matt

It’s externally essentially the same as a Boomerang, but structurally very different, including a metal rear fuselage rather than the ply sheath the Boomer has. It is based on the T-6, while the Boomerang was based on the NA-16, a precursor to the Harvard / T-6. Externally, the centre section looks the same. The cockpit’s modern Imron American, rather than accurate.
I’m told that the Boomerang is, as you’d expect, a fun fighter version of the T-6 in many ways and this would be a great aircraft to buy and fly – a budget fighter, and, unlike the real thing, you can take a mate.
Hell you could ‘shoot down’ the Boomer’s first Zero, as they never got any in reality. 😉

????
Going by memory since wix is down. Someone with some knowledge of that particular a/c said that the center section was T-6 and if you look at the courtesy photos you can see differences. Also the exhaust set-up is different. I seem to remember Sanders making this alongside the other and using it has a pattern.

No, it’s a Boomer, but to speed up the rebuild they did take a few short cuts if i recall (wings ?). Matt Denning’s aircraft was the first fastidious rebuild to fly…..

isn’t this a converted T-6?
