Hello all,
Just got back from a small holiday in Wales while gearing up for my big trip to SXM and I managed to get down to the local air museum 5 minutes away…
G-HVRD – Resting all week…
G-DANZ – Flying in after re-fueling…
G-BAGR – Awaiting another mission…
G-BGSV – Taxiing out…
G-MAAA – Awaiting the next rescue sortie…
PT462 – After a very nice display she taxied in for more fuel…
???? – Any help on the reg?…
Then it was time to book a pleasure flight over snowdon!
G-CBXJ – Our plane that would take us!…
G-CBXJ – Quick cockpit shot while jumpseating the a/c…
Crusing at 4,000ft some 400-500ft above Snowdon…
G-CBXJ – 2.5nm out while making our app via the castle…
The end of an awesome week…
Thanks,
Sam

Hey Sam! Sure is! Betws-y-Coed, and my village 4 miles south, are right in the middle of it. And a random question, you didn’t pass by the tourist info office by any chance did you??
And if you were here last week, Hercs were passing thru daily, very low as per usual!
Not too sure mate. We didn’t stay long, just had some food then whent back to book our pleasure flight. It’s a nice place though!
Never heard about this airfield  , but it looks like a great place , thanks for these brilliant shots 😀
Me either until 10 minutes before we was leaving bound for Wales :p
Thanks for the comments!

Thanks, Elgan. Just out of curiosity is the Mach Loop anywhere near there? We whent to Betsy-y-coed (Mind the spelling) and there was 2x Hawk’s going through the Valley’s.

On the subject of walking up Snowdon, I did it with my Dad when I was 11 (long time ago) and would recommend everyone to do it once in their life.
Anyone not ventured up to this part of the UK yet then do it there is so much on offer.
RAF Valley for mil flying, all of the Snowdon National Park to explore (jets flying over your head), great beaches (more jets flying over your head) and if your in to biking then we’ve got one hell of a coastal bike route, but watch out for the low flying jets again.
Oh and on the way back home stop off at Hawarden and watch the Beluga’s flying the Wings out of Airbus.
(site added to sell the place to anyone in the family not interested in aviation).

XJ is an awesome little plane aswell!
Great shots Sam, G-DANZ has been out to one of the ship’s i worked on with a Royal onboard. So how much turbulance did you encounter whilst taking the Snowdon shot?
Si, to be honest not much atall – I though it would be quite bad but there was only a few little bumps which I thought was abit unusual.

And just of note, Dad’s flown in G-MAAA, after a suspected heart attack, which happened 3 months ago, but in the end it wasn’t a Heart Attack, just a pulled chest muscle
And another note, thats the 1st time i’ve seen the summit of Snowdon, without the cafe, which is being rebuilt. As a local, you don’t walk Snowdon, and you certainly don’t go up on that money machine which is the Train :p
