Thanks Mark, lovely shots. The photos of the CAF one on the link about the deadstick incident show it as the one with the red ouline on the stars and bars.

Here’s the three flyers…only one shot ‘in air’ unfortunately, the rest did’nt show the plane to much advantage, but here they are….might have mixed up the CAF’s and the LSFM’s, but I THINK Lone Star’s is #5 and the CAF’s is S-9…could be the other way around tho….I KNOW the Air Museum’s is #39…Warbird directory #3 shows 25 airframes still extant including the flyers…

Thanks chaps. Has anyone got photos of them all to share please? Especially in flight. Have all three formated together at all?
The Dauntless is a really great aircraft, but a little under-represented really in the warbirds world. It’s great to hear the flyers are/were three times the amount I had heard of.
Thinking about it, it might have been the PofF example that was ex-RNZAF. Can anyone confirm please?
How many exists worldwide all together? ie static as well. Anyone know?

Three flying Dauntlesses in the world…Lone Star’s, The Chino gangs, and the CAF’s…now down to two…temporarily.

Well done to the pilot for a successful emergency landing. Is the CAF Dauntless still the only one flying in the world? Or have others now made it back into the air?
I’d love to see the CAF Dauntless someday. It would be great if it were returned to it’s wartime RNZAF colours and brought to NZ for a Wanaka show or something. Probably never happen though.
I think Planes of Fame has a flying Dauntless also.

Good to see the Dauntless got down safely and the crew are okay.

Good god, who is rebuilding their engines these days? Last I heard they were none too happy with the rebuild on their P-40N that caused it’s engine to seize a few years ago and ALSO caused a belly landing (Ollie Crawford was alright)…now this and the C-60 accident…man, time for the luck of the CAF to change…

What? the one on my Flying Legends calendar?
Excellent airmanship, glad the crew and plane are safe.

Crew safe, aircraft safe.
That’s the main thing here I think.
Cheers

Sheesh!!! Two 1820s in one day as the B-17 Sentimental Journey also had an engine failure at Nellis prior to the show but landed safely.
