Van Nuys based Canadair T-33 N99192 (RCAF 21118 CL-30Mk.3 CN T-33-118) was destroyed in a fatal crash north of Los Angeles in Santa Clarita Sunday afternoon. I just took a photo of this at the Miramar airshow two weeks ago…below is another photo from the net of this aircraft.

Small plane crash causes fire at mobile home park
By Associated Press
A small plane crashed into a mobile home park Sunday in the Canyon Country area, injuring one person on the ground and setting three homes ablaze, officials said.
The unidentified person was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries, said Art Marrujo, a dispatch supervisor for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Paramedics and eight engine companies with nearly 50 firefighters responded after the plane went down shortly before 4 p.m., about 25 miles north of downtown Los Angeles, Marrujo said.
The plane, a T-33 single-engine military aircraft made in 1953, departed from Van Nuys Airport and crashed about 3:55 p.m, said Bruce Nelson, operations officer for the Federal Aviation Administration. The plane was privately owned, he said.

Another awful tragedy. I really do hope less families have to lose loved ones in 2004. 🙁

Quoting a post from another forum:
“The L.A. Daily News reports that the pilot of the T-33 was Dr. Dan Lavigna of Tarzana, California.”
