Some time ago, I believe someone (possibly me – memory is not what it was) posted a request for information on the above event on behalf of a friend.
The pilot of the aircraft concerned was finally identified, and a report of the event has now been posted.
Tomorrow’s Salute – The Pilot’s Story by Sqn Ldr Don Dale
Thanks for the help of all those who helped. I know those concerned are grateful.
It makes for some very interesting reading, and explains, perhaps, why the RAF denied the event.

As he says in the article, if he had asked for permission he would probably got a ‘NO’ after waiting 6 months. Proably get a NO after 5 minutes now. 🙁
mmitch.
Probably less than that as they would’nt even allow the request to be made. 😮

Thanks, just shows how some people will go to any lengths to do what they think is right in their own minds.
You seem to remember the things that people should not have done in the past rather than what they were allowed to do.
In this case it is remembered for the right reasons and hats off to S/L D Dale.
BP. 😉
