Pedants and Glasshouses

There is indeed only one “e” in “lens”, Rob. And I think you meant “controllable”.

The words “hoist” and “petard” are flitting across my mind for some inexplicable reason.

That’s quite enough spelling-related pedantry for one day, I think.

Thanks

GA

That’s all good then! And I don’t consider you a pedant; if you were you would have also highlighted the error in the original message title and pointed out that there are are two ‘n’ in cleaning! :diablo::D

…..Using a sensor wand is much more economical and controlable than sensor swabs or some of the other alternatives…..And by the way, there’s only one E in lens.

This should help http://www.cleaningdigitalcameras.com/

Using a sensor wand is much more economical and controlable than sensor swabs or some of the other alternatives. Supplies can be purchased here http://www.cameraclean.co.uk/acatalog/Sensor_Wand_Cleaning_Kits.html

And by the way, there’s only one E in lens.

Good advice on both those sites – but beware of the risk when cleaning the sensor!!!
True, there is only one E in lens – but perhaps he has two or more LEnsEs:D

Mick, you can clean the front and rear elements of the lens and the camera’s mirror with some optical lens wipes you can get from any camera shop and many supermarkets. I’ve got a packet of Bouchard brand in front of me right now.
If you’re talking about cleaning the sensor in the camera then be a bit more careful. Do some careful Googling and if you’ve got any doubts then maybe get it done professionally, as it won’t cost a fortune.
