Camera Restrictions on UK Flights?

Anyone have any gen on what the latest restrictions are (if any)??

I am going to Moscow & Gelendzhik at the end of this month on an aviation trip – and there is no way I am putting my EOS 300D/lens & EOS 350D/lens plus 400 IS lens in the hold bagage.

Apart from the risk of damage – there is also theft to worry about.

I will have to pack them into a cabin case of the new restricted dimensions – but what about batteries etc…???

Does anyone have any first hand experience – or know what the current regs are ??
