Can anyone identify this part?

It was found by one of our members behind what was one of the dispersals on Hunsdon airfield last week. some kind of rheostat, but for what purpose , predominantly a Mossie airfield once, but was it a common fitting to many other types?.

Hi Denis,

It looks a little like the volume controller for the TR9 wireless, but I’ll have to dig out my references to be certain.

If it is, then the Mossie connection could be correct.
