The subject of other people’s use of English is off-topic for this Forum. Let’s have no more nit-picking.

GA

If I can make this one, neccessary, non-civil aviation, exception I would be grateful.

Pay heed to GAs reminder, I honestly believed that informing GA of someone’s grammar and post subjects who was really winding me up would have no effect what so ever, however this simple PM that took a mere ten seconds to create resulted in punishment to the offender. Therefore forget moaning in the open forum, as the reminder says, and send off a PM – the results are clear to see in a matter of hours,

Mod Comment

A good and fair point from Pte1643.

Our stand on clear English that follows basic and simple rules of punctuation is partly for the benefit of those for whom English is not a first language. It makes sense when you think about it.

You’re right about the nit-pickers, too. They haven’t read my reminder properly, either.

I’m sure there are plenty of Forums out there where like-minded folk can discuss the niceties of English grammar to their hearts’ content.

We talk about commercial aviation in here………..

Right mate firstly check ure grammer full stops capitals etc.

right lets think theres 5 flights i think why dont you just check the PIA website?

I think you mean:

Right mate, firstly check your grammar is correct. Full stops, capitals, etc.

Right, let’s think. There are 5 flights. I think that’s right. Why don’t you just check the PIA website?

You can’t criticise someone else’s grammAr and make the same mistakes yourself!

And this “check your grammar” talk is really starting to irritate, especially considering that the people giving this advice haven’t a clue themselves. What sort of word is “ure”?

Totally agree. Look at the grammar and spelling LukeyLad used in his post telling David to improve, it was terrible!

If you can’t do it yourself, don’t go telling others!

Can I just add a little point?

I can understand the moderators stand, but there seems to be too much “Nit-picking”, as T5 has said, regarding others spelling and grammar.

Especially when some of the nit-pickers are just as bad.

It is possible that, for some members of this forum, English is NOT their first language.

I suspect this may be the case with “Dave”.

How about a little tolerance guys? 🙂

Let’s try and get our messages across as clearly as possible, and help our fellow members as best we can.

Dave,

Have you thought of doing your own re-search before asking other people? It’s really annoying and when you write like a plonker people are just going to ignore you. I don’t think your attitude is the best either.

The Manchester Airport website is just as good and give departure and arrival times for Pakistan services to Karachi and New York(?)

As for passenger loads, I wouldn’t have a clue.
