Its so infuriating that more and more airlines are eliminating meal service on-board. First it was the no-frills and now other ‘respectable’ airlines and charter airlines are doing the same.
In my experience these airlines claim you can buy on board but the most they offer is Pringles or a Sandwich and they dont have nearly enough to go round.
Are you allowed to fetch your own cooked lunch. If I ever have the misfortune to have to fly one of these airlines, I will take my Tupperware full of tasty morsels and make all the other passengers very jealous while they pay 2.50 for a watery cup-a soup or a curly Britsh Rail type cheese and chutney sarnie!

You really think the fare would go down just because costs have been reduced?
No, that’s why I wrote I WOULD like to see the fare go down.

Iberia state in their Inflight magazine Ronda that passengers cannot consume their own alchohol but doesnt mention anything about food.Just as well.A club sandwich and a can of coke costs 9.50euro.

With the amount of food outlets at airports and short flight times I don’t see the need to eat on a plane. I would rather see the fare go down by a few quid.

Try 4 and half hours to Tenerife or Larnaca. Sat at the back like 3rd class citizens! Its ridiculous, if people dont want to pay for a meal, fine let then travel with Ryanair or Baby but please no more airlines cutting out the hot meal!!!!
If you want a meal, fly BA to Tenerife or Larnaca and pay for it!! 😉

4 and a half hours….. so say you fly at 8 in the morning, have some brekkie about 7:30 in the airport, 12:30 just in time for some dinner when you get there!
I dont see why sat at the back makes you a ‘3rd class citizen’, its just the same seats.

100 % Agree, how many of flights without meals are over 3 hours at the most? Not many, if you cant last that long take your own, and at the same time let the rest of us enjoy the cheap fares!

Its against Health and Safety laws to let them Heat it up for you as if you keel over and die they are the ones who would be sued.
Do you think his cooking is that bad
By: danairboy - 9th September 2004 at 23:46
I never thought for one minute they would heat it up. I think it was a joke. The airlines nowadays charge you for water and wont give you so much as a shortcake biscuit, so they would hardly heat passengers food for nowt!
If I have no choice and no full-service carrier is available on the route I want to fly, than I would take a lovely cold collation packed carefully into me Tupperware for in-flight consumpton.

You can bring your own food no problem, dunno if they’d let you heat it up though 😀
