Can you use an expired passport with EasyJet when travelling domestically?

Hi, I’ve been told that it is possible to travel on EasyJet on a domestic UK flight with a passport that has expired less than two years ago.
Looking at their website, the only mention of it I could find was here: http://www.easyjet.com/EN/News/20040628_01.html
but, looking at the URL that piece of news is dated 2004 and I’m not sure if it is still applicable.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thank you.

As far as I’m aware, they still allow you to use a passport that expired up to two years ago on domestic flights. On international flights, it’s a totally different matter. If you have an in-date passport or any other type of photographi ID (such as a driving licence) then you’re safer to use that. From what I remember of my domestic flights, security don’t ask to see your ID, it is only required at check in.

Why take the chance? if your passport is in date then less can go wrong, it would be a shame for something to happen at the airport if you trusted that you could board with it out of date, you see it too many times on “Airline” where passengers expect to fly etc with out of date documents, it always pays to be a sensible traveller, i.e. documents valid & show up on time 🙂

Thanks very much, I know some airlines still do, my sister travelled on BMI Baby a few days ago but I’m assuming that different airlines have different policies.
Thank you.

Simple answer no. its got to be in date, because its a goverment document and your circumstances could have changed since it expired.

welcome to the forums btw.
