Canada has banned Russian flag carrier Aeroflot’s transit flights via it’s territory and restricted Aeroflot’s Moscow-Toronto flights after the Russian Civil Aviation Agency refused in September to allow Air Canada to make transit flights from Toronto to New Delhi free of charge.
Foreign Airlines have to pay a total of $300m a year to Russia, including some to Aeroflot, for transit via its territory
