For the third time this year Canada has had to ground it’s 15 Cormorants because of technical problems. Only SAR and test flights are allowed. The specific issue (again) is tail roter hub cracks.
Additionaly the DND has stated that the new machines are requiring 22 maintenance man-hours/filght hour instead of the 7 hours predicted by EH Industries.
It would seem the poor build quality of the EH-101s and the huge maintenance costs may have had a significant role in the DND ordering the Sikorsky H-92.
