Which scrap yards received the airframes when they were released from service?
They might still have some around.

Ben

In the absence of more obvious aptions, i would make an approach to Jet Art, he gets a lot of parts in, and if he hasn’t done anything with it after more than a year perhaps it is’nt ideally suited to becoming a chair…..

You can only ask and you may just have something he needs which would swop ?

Ben, the Manston Canberra, WK124?, port nacelle and intake ring are totally beyond any use, crushed and there will be no way of straightening it.
Starboard nacelle and ring, in fairly good order but it will not give up easily, when we were down there, we asked about cutting it off, which would be your only option, but we were refused due to a potential fire risk!!! Even though we have our own in date extinguishers and there just happens to be a fire school within 100ft of the aircraft!!

If you want any photos of the aircraft, give me a PM with your email address.

Cheers.

hi paul i hadn’t noticed that,

but having had a look at the rest of his items, i get the feel that it probably isnt for sale at the moment, and when it will be it wont be anything near my price range. i was considering ringing various places like bournemouth hurn (as this one seems to be on the dump?) possibly manston and preddenack (not sure who i would get in touch with about the preddenack one)

Canberra nacelle

Hi Ben

Complete long shot but i note Jet Art has a Canberra engine nacelle section that i think he intended turning into a seat of some sort. Don’t know if he has done anything with it as yet.

I’ve looked on his website ( just Google Jet Art) and it’s still in the furniture section, but i’m no Canberra expert and could’nt confirm which section or Mk of Canberra it’s from.

Might be worth a try ?

Regards
