Hi all
I was picking the kids up from school yesterday (15:25ish). when I heard an un-usual aircraft noise (Unusual for the area any way) I glanced up and there was a Canberra PR-9 at low level heading north!. It was nice to see the old warhorse again. It is very unusual to see any military traffic in the area (Ashton-on-Mersey) because of it’s closeness to Manchester airport.
Just thought you would like to know.

I was just checking into a Hotel in Salford and could here some historic jet noise. Liked the wing wave before zooooooooommmmmm ing off.
PR9 will be a distant memory soon.

I saw a Canberra when i was working at glastonbury. Had to stop picking up litter and watch it for a bit. Something we wont see for much longer, although it may have been the Civvy one, if that was about in June this year?
I got buzzed by a tornado then as well, and a chinook loadmaster waved at me.

I was starting to doubt the evidence of my own eyes…. a lovely sight on a lovely day.
Thank you for reassuring me that I’m not losing the plot after all, Cking. 😀

Nice! I remember being on holiday at Norfolk a few years back and watching Canberra’s fly about, also remember seeing three Jaguars fly low level over the sea from the beach at Cromer, sadly won’t see that any more
