I have just taken delivery of the nose section of WT486 ,this was donated by the Flight Experiance Workshop to my ATC sqn,It is intended to use it as a long term restoration project for the cadets and eventually have it as a display exhibit. Can anyone assist with sourcing information on the airframe as well as instruments etc , any help would be greatly appreciated.

Last time I drove past RAF Wyton there were old Canberra airframes rotting on the airfield. Try visiting the base if you are not too far away.

To source parts, try placing a message on the forum of the International Cockpit Club www.internationalcockpitclub.org.uk In addition to find out which instruments and panels you require write to the research dept at the RAF Museum at Hendon. They will forward on Canberra Cockpit diagrams to you, which hopefully will help you know which type of instruments you need.
Good Luck

Yes got it from the golf course it was still owned by the F.E.W. they got the nose section from the fire dump at Aldergrove with the intention of putting it in a Museum they were planning with Castlereagh council ,the plan failed so it lay for several years until I found it and aquired it for the Sqn.Its now at 664VGS at Newtownards airfield.

WT486 served with the Station Flight at RAF Wildenrath & with 88,17 & 14 Squadrons in Germany. It became a Ground Instructional Airframe as 8102M on 21.8.70 and was delivered to the Flight Experience Workshop at Belfast, where presume it was cut up. The nose went to Gilnahirk Golf Course, Belfast, where presume you acquired it from.
