Hello,
i was wanting to know why ryanar have cancelled the flights from canary islands to london?
Airlines such as easyjet, Jet2 are still departing for london as flying over the ash cloud not in it, or landing in it.
Does anyone know why ryanair are the only ones to cancell the flights?
Thanks:mad:

Err, no it doesn’t tell two different stories.
It says that initially Ryanair denied any link with the volcanic activity but later admitted that ash had been found in two engines.
2 stories then

So, when i clicked on ryanair website for a refund would i have there been able to claim additional costs, my taxi back home and then back to the airport for example?

Well that News tells 2 different stories.
The headline says that Ryanair found ash in the planes Engines yet under the Image it says the airline Denies any ash was found in its engines

I’m not flying with Ryanair again, I don’t want to risk breaking my spine on one of their “quick, gotta get to the terminal and load up some more cattle” landings 😡
Moooo 😉

I think Ryanair’s nervousness may have something to do with the fact that a couple of their aircraft over the past few days or so have reportedly been found with ash in their engines and one flight had to turn back after an acrid smell entered the cabin shortly after takeoff. The smell it was later discovered was caused by chemicals used to clean the ash from the engines.

It was due to the ash cloud, every flight out Tenerife south with ryanair was cancelled!
Had to pay a fortune to fly easyjet today instead.
The only airline to cancel out of the airport was ryanair…oh well

I think Ryanair prefer to cancel flights rather than risk delays, which affect their on-time statistics.

Interesting. The only other flight cancelled yesterday was an Aer Lingus flight at 7.40 pm. Ryanair flights appear to be performing normally today.

Did they not advise passengers why they cancelled? I won’t fly Ryanair as the lowest price is not always the best solution i.e. you get what you pay for.
