CanJet to cease scheduled operations on Sept 10
Mary Kirby, Philadelphia (05Sep06, 16:08 GMT, 117 words)Canadian operator CanJet Airlines will terminate all scheduled service next week.
The Boeing 737 operator, a division of Halifax, Nova Scotia-based I M P Group, in a statement says it will offer alternative travel arrangements for customers booked on flights after September 10, its final day of service.
“With the rising business risks of operating a scheduled airline, I M P has decided to suspend year-round scheduled airline service and focus on their increasing charter business,” says IMP chairman and CEO Ken Rowe.
Some affected employees will be offered positions in I M P’s expanding general aviation, aerospace or other business units.
According to ATI sister product ACAS, CanJet’s fleet consists of nine 737-500s and one 737-300.
