Capt Bill Overstreet 357th FG has passed !

BlueNoser352 notes the passing of a fine man and WW II Mustang fighter pilot , Capt Bill Overstreet who flew “The Berlin Express” with the 357th FG with the Eighth Air Force . Noted for his victory over a Me-109 as he chased and shot it down while flying under the Eiffel Tower in 1944 ! Here is a local Virginia television stations story about his passing . He lived a full life and accomplished many things in post war USA ! My condolences to his family and friends !

Nice shot of Capt Overstreet’s “Berlin Express ” !

Yup, classic shot of Berlin Express complete with white wall tyres :eagerness:

This particular aircraft, P-51B, 43-24843, was the previous mount of ‘Bud’ Anderson, and thus the 2nd Mustang to wear the markings of ‘Old Crow’.
