CAPTAIN RALPH KOHN

CAPTAIN RALPH KOHN

It is with much sadness that we record the passing of Captain Ralph Kohn. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family at this sad time.
Ralph joined Eagle Aviation at Blackbushe June 1955 as a First Officer flying Vickers Vikings after obtaining his commercial pilots licence in 1953. He was an aero-club instructor before joining Eagle. He flew for Eagle up until it closed in 1968, ending his time there as captain on BAC 1-11 aircraft. He joined Dan Air for a while but later joined BAC as a training Captain. He later moved to the UK CAA Flight Operation Inspectorate in 1971. Ralph was a well respected man not only with Eagle but all other areas of aviation that he was involved in. He was a fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and was a founder member of the Society’s Flight Operations Group being its chairman from 2003 to 2006.

I have been ask by Ralph’s family to add the following:

Donations;

Ralph’s decline was due to cancer (Hodgkin’s Lymphoma) followed by a series of strokes. Normally one might expect charities supporting these causes would be chosen.
However Ralph’s one guiding principle in life was to help others if he could. Until the end he worked tirelessly looking for ways to halt/cure Poppy’s advancing dementia.
Therefore the family thought it would be fitting to chose a charity reflecting this.

Please send/bring no flowers.

Donations if desired by cheque payable to:
