Car – Aircraft

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-06-02 AT 12:06 PM (GMT)]Got a stupid car -> aircraft analogy started in the AFM thread, so thought I’d continue it here, do you guys agree with the following?

F-16 = VW Golf (a cinch to drive, does everything well, can be used and found in a multitude of different guises, top-selling, relatively inexpensive compared to others)
F/A-18 = Audi A3 (slightly more expensive alternative to a Golf, but does everything similarly well)
F-15 = BMW 3-series (does everything better than a Golf, at a more expensive price)
MiG-21 = Lada (rugged in the field :))
MiG-29 = Lotus Elise (tremendous little performer, but quality and useability is an issue)
Dassault Rafale = Peugeot 406 Coupe (sleek, slinky, sexy)
F-22 = Maybach?
F-104 = Any American “sports” car (fast in a straight line, that’s about it ;))
Gripen = Toyota Corolla (Almost matches the Golf in all departments, at a lesser price)
F-111 = Aston Martin Vanquish (Fast, not very maneuvreble, beautiful, can be a bit of a maintenence b!tch)
Tornado = Aston Martin DB7 (similar to a Vanquish, just not quite as good)
Mirage 2000 = Peugeot 306 (French alternative to a VW Golf, very similar, but with added French quirkiness)
BAE Hawk = VW Polo, Peugeot 206, Toyota Echo/Yaris (You know, a mini Golf, 306 or Corolla!)
