hi,
this is my first post on the forum ,im just so angry about my car having been broken into just before christmas, the theives literally tore off my garage doors to gain entry but simply vandalised the steering column/dashboard.i was able to get the damage sorted.however.the police were hopeless.couldnt get any fingerprints and simply told me i was unlucky but promised to double their patrols ,one week later the theives came back and broke into five more properties again the police couldnt get any forensic evidence and seem powerless to stop these reprobates,i was told by one officer that if i had confronted the theif and restrained him, i could have faced prosecution myself.i was amazed at this statement so i wonder who is the victim here?

car thef/ vandalism
i appreciate these comments and agreed its not a good thing to try the “tony martin ” method, however when these facless freaks pore over ones property .smashing up with gay abandon knowing the police will prove fruitless in their efforts to apprehend them its extremley difficult not to go to the “dark side ” as it were
And as often as not should you pursue this line of action it would be you/I who would be viewed as the “offender” dealing with a so called “society reject” too harshly rather than look upon them as victims of their own circumstances ie young, bored ,unemployable individuals struggling to find an identity in a cold harsh world that doesnt understand their problems (yeah right) for problems read how do i get my next buzz at someone elses expense, the solution?any offers out there?

Best thing you can do, apart from leave a very large dog in the garage!!!
Is 4 or so large outdoor spot lights, to dazzle any would be thief.
The cricket club I played for was broken in over 30 times as it was miles from anywhere untill they put the spotlights and cctv up, turned out 2 smack heads it
I wouldnt become Tony Martin just yet if I was you 😉

Stick the b*stards in the Army.. that’ll sort the irresponsible little sh1ts out
No. I know a few fine gentlemen in the army, one who’s just got back from a tour in Afghanistan. And they don’t want to be associated with the sort of scum that do this.
Tbh a prosecution against your making a citizens arrest wouldn’t hold up at court anyway. Espically if they were on your property.
In all honestly I get a CCTV camera set from a place such as maplin. Go in and ask for their advice on what to get, get it set up to a HDD and record the gits.

They are.
You obviously have more than they do (home, car and a job to pay for it all), while they are just misunderstood youth who need your financial support.
