Caribou pic esp for Setter

Except this one is flying.. 😀

Seriously, a nice pic, thought I would share.
These aircraft are truly amazing.
This one is owned by the Army Display Team for the Vietnam War re-inactments at airshows.

I agree, Stieglitz.

Just confirms the very fragility of a human in a wartime situation… 🙁

Hi John,

Here’s the pic you required.

WARNING…..
For all of you out there who haven’t seen this before…this photo is very graphic. 🙁
The Caribou was hit by a “friendly” 105mm howitzer shell while coming into land.

Cheers
Chris

Is La Ferte a long way from australia !!!!!!!!!!

Hi Stieglitz

I did such a trip once – it took 27 hours door to airfield in a jumbo !!!

Australia is in ……….. well Australia ( the largish bit at the bottom of the Pacific) and La Ferte is …….well sort of French which is to say in ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, sort of in France ( The Largish bit on the left side of Europe). So no I wouldn’t normally go there on a weekend.

Seriously thanks for your comment I will be in France again this year and I will go to La Ferte and seek out the Vietnam stuff

Kindest Regards
John Parker

Yes, it is a nice item for the vietnam-scenes at airshows. Is La Ferte a long way from australia. They have a vietnam display at their show.
