An irish entrepeneur is planning an £80 million investment in upgrading facilities at carlisle airport to develop it into a major reginal airport. Dr Edward Haughey plans to enhance terminal facilitys and upgrade the runway at the airport to attract shecduled customers. He is curently in talks with at least two new start ups to launch new services by the end of the year.
