I know, I am married to one, though these days she pretends to be Welsh – it’s less embarrassing

OK, I think I have the hang of this now.

Say our chaps went out and had a knock and scored, say 360 or so

Then the colonial chaps go to bat, and if we skittle them out for, say, 128 (I know it’s unlikely, but bear with me) then we’ve ‘carrned the Aussies’, right?

The nice thing about your version of baseball is that spectators can go for a meal, a nap, and even maybe a short vacation, and be back in time to see the end of the game.

Thats true Paul, It’s, batting on a sticky wicket, stumped, and need bailing out quick, but when we have “Silly mid ons and offs ” etc, what do you expect. It’s a load of balls, (Cricket ones of coarse) :highly_amused:

isn’t a cairn something to do with rocks or a little terrier 🙂 .
As for the Aussies ,well they’ve gone right downhill, couldn’t win if they were the only team in it :).
What are we on about again? 🙂

Having said that they have bought their summer over, not our normal wet, cold summer 🙂

Now, what’s a Carrrn?

Moggy

Might it be a dyslexic cairn?

You’ve been MIA a long time Phil, hope you’re keeping well.

Moggy I believe it means come on the Australians. Probably shouted by the drunken occupants who had to many tinnies(spelling?) in the back of a Ute(some sort of pick up truck I believe)

I think this is aimed at the 2nd Ashes Test)for Moggy they lost the first one. It would not be the Rugby as we stuffed them at that last week.

I think just the word “Aussies” sums it up Moggy

Err… yes. It was the possessive apostrophe that had me confused.

Now, what’s a Carrrn?
