Most of airlines have a “only one hand luggage /per passenger in cabin”
Some are strict such as LH some are latitudinarian such as AF.
This ends to passenger having a couple (or more) of huge luggages to fit in the bins.
The point is if one boards in among the last passengers , all the overhead bins are full. It’s frustrating and unfair.
An AF guys told me once that they can force a passenger to check in his luggages if he doesn’t want to !!!!
What’s your opinion?

If the luggage is only small,why don’t you place the hand luggage under the seat?I do that when I fly.

I think walking around with a really big telescope near an airbase/airport has never been so much fun.
