Carvair returns to its birthplace

After 40 years Carvair Cockpit ( Airframe no8 – EI-AMR / CF-EPV ) returns back to its birthplace ( well almost ).

Our group of enthusiastic volunteers lead by Marc Wilmott raised the necessary funds within just a few week to secure the cockpit from its then home in Suffolk at return it to Essex. Restoration is now underway, BUT we are still looking for a permanent home, preferably somewhere on the Southend Airport site, and we are seeking any help or advice on a final location for the project.

If anyone would like to see our website or subscribe a small amount of just £2.50 per month, this will allow us to progress with project in terms of purchasing materials to use for its restoration.

Perhaps this is an obvious suggestion that’s already been chased, but what about it becoming an extra attraction in the Vulcan hangar at Southend??

Good to see it saved, wherever it ends up.
