Castle Bromwich Test Pilot

Can anyone confirm whether there was a Spitfire Test Pilot during the war at Castle Bromwich by the name of Laurie Smiley please?

Many thanks

I know that Alex Henshaw was well known for keeping meticulus records of everything related to test flying and who did what etc, and most test pilots at even sites such as Cosford may have come under his control in some form.
I believe that Alex left a lot of of his papers including log book was left to the RAFM so a visit to them to read through may be rewarding.

Alex Henshaw in his book refers to one Olav Ulstad or Olaf Ulstad. I believe this is actually Olav Ullestad. Correct?

Nope.

No, sorry, he’s not recorded. Of course, he might have been attached to one of the satellite units such as Cosford etc.
