Cat N285RA on the Move

On wrecksandrelics@yahoogroups.com the following message was spread

The fuselage of ex Beauvais Catalina N285RA was seen roadrunning on a low-loader, near Wilrijk, Belgium on its way to Antwerp.. (27/2)
To be (finally) shipped to Israel??

Catalina for Israel

The Cat has arrived to the port of Ashdod 2 days ago.It was unloaded and will be trucked by the IAF Queen Mary trucks to the IAF Museum where it will be assembled,Painted and displayed.
The problem is that it lacks the Blisters.Does anybody know where can they find blisters?

Ask and it shall be given, one Israeli Catalina!:)

The IAF bought three Cats, but only operated two and that for a short time, perhaps a few months. Therefore odd that they would require an example for such a short lived career.

Incidentally, N285RA was due to be shipped from Le Havre towards the end of last year, but obviously there was some unforeseen delay.

I promise I will………..

But the question came to my mind: what do the Israeli care for a Cat?
Did the IDFAF ever fly one??? I have never seen pictures of them..

At last hope it finally gets there and is well looked after.
Would be nice to see some pics of it on the road

One of my fave ‘Cats’ [but as a certain Mr Forsythe would say they are all my favourites.!]
