Catalina in Ireland

According to a Swedish blog Catalina C-FPQM were supposed to land at Foynes in Ireland last Friday to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the first Pan Am clipper flights. I asked around about this during Legends, but no one seemed to have a clue. So, does anyone here know if the a/c made it across?

Hi Daniel,

Have noticed. Will we see you at the Rygge show in Aug?

T J

Rygge, yep my intention is to drive up there over one of the days. Looks like it’s going to be a really nice show. Spit, ‘Stang and Buchon is all I need to be happy (I’m a man of modesty ;))

Might be some time for a (driving friendly) beer afterwards 🙂

TJ,
The two pilots came over for the ceremony but not much excitement without the aircraft.

I would imagine. Well here’s to a safe passage later on. Hope to see it when it arrives in Sweden later this summer.

TJ,
It did not arrive at Foynes, I understand that it had technical problems in Canada plus lousy weather over the Atlantic and Ireland. The two pilots came over for the ceremony but not much excitement without the aircraft.
