Small article in latest Flypast says that the Cat’ will be going to USA once work is completed at Biggin Hill.
However in A***plane Monthly which has a more in depth article, i can’t see any mention made of such a move. Although one photo caption says… “the British owner of N423RS favours finishing it in an RAF scheme“.
Which is correct please ? Or will it have a British owner but based in the USA ?

Plenty of people operate multi-engined vintage aircraft without flogging them around the airshow circuit. Especially in the US.

What else would you do with it? Bit expensive for the £100 coffee and bun bimble but I suppose there are people who can afford it.

That assumes that the intention is to operate it on the show circuit.

Is there room for two Catalinas on the UK show circuit? I doubt it so the USA would seem to be a better bet.

Can’t help but an excellent piece by Clive Edwards in the Aeroplane Monthly article on effects of water and condensation in piston engines on trying to start a derelict piston engined aircraft, essential reading.
