To settle an argument, I’m looking for the range and payload specs for the pure flying boat non-amphibian Catalina.
All the specs I can find online seem to refer to the PBY5A amphibian version, and I’m sure that the seacat had a much longer range and a larger payload than the landcat.

Thanks for that info Wieesso. Thought there would have been a greater difference in the range, with a greater payload allowing for more fuel.
All the really long distance flights by Cats (eg Freemantle/India and the ‘Frigate Bird’ Easter Island adventure) seemed to have been carried out by seacats.
