My Apologies for a very late after date report:
Booking this flight / holiday purely because of Celebair but I had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay in Benidorm 🙂
30th August 2008
Celebair ZB9252 London Gatwick – Alicante dep 15:00
(Monarch A321)
Celebrities operating on this flight:
Johnny Shentall
Lisa Scott Lee
Amy Lame
(Ground Staff)
Kenzie
Dan O’connor
(Air Stewards)
Taking the train to Gatwick for the first time was incredibly relaxing and stress free compared to driving, a swift change at Cosham from Hometown Southampton was a breeze, arriving at Gatwick at about 12:30, it was very cheap compared to airport parking at about £48 for 3 people with a family and freinds rail card compared to a costly £75 airport parking + all the stresses and strains of driving! I most recommend taking the train to Gatwick.
After leaving the train and entering the terminal I brace myself for all to come, checked in by Johnny Shental was very pleasant! With cameras in my face I am embarassed after having forgotten to take liquids out of my hand luggage into my main luggage 😮 . It was a very unique thing to me and had the camera people asking me to repeat my words and the questions johnny was asking me  . I then went over to the Celebair Sales desk to greet Lisa Scott Lee, possibly the only person I actually knew of on Celebair! After shaking her hand and autograph i felt very exited and happy about my experiance 🙂
After 10 minutes of passing through the various sercurity checks, I was in the familiar Gatwick Airport South terminal shopping centre. It was as busy as usual with mass ques outside various places.
The screen then came up for me to go to the gate, Lisa ripped and checked my ticket as i entered the departure Lounge and i was very pleased to then have a picture taken with her 😀 and another with Johnny. After waiting for about 10 minutes I boarded the Monarch Airlines Airbus A321 to Alicante, disappointed that it was not the branded CelebAir one. After being greeted by Dan o’connor I sat down woundering what there was to come. I was over whelmed by the amount of camera crew and equipment that could fit and manuover in such a small cabin.
Pushing back, to then view a very entertaining Kenzie perform the aircraft safety demo (that later had him voted off the competion for this ‘un proffesional’ performance along with other things on this flight). The flight was the same proceedures as all the other flights to Alicante I have been on, except for the cameras always your face when you are trying to drink your cup of hot chocolate! On the flight I managed to get an autograph from both the celebrities, signing the ‘De’cent’ frangrance which was part of the celebair merchandise. After much filming and laughter the flight came to an end with a smooth landing, disembarquenig the aircraft I shook both Dan and Kenzie’s hands, to be the last off the aircraft I stood with around 20 people awaiting the last bus to the terminal, the camera man asked us to stand in a group and all wave. What a flight that was.
If I could say anything about this flight it would be that I enjoyed the unique experiance. Hopeing to be on tv after being film so much, I was VERY dissapointed, after watching back on the ITV play back out of lots of being on camera I was showed for a split second on the aircraft 😡 I was disappointed since I had my whole family endureing an hour of Celebair, which in my view seems to be a very boring programme, but not unless you are actually on the flight like myself, which I consider once in a lifetime flight since I do not think anything like this will be on television again since It is quite boring television.
The holiday was brilliant in Benidorm! I went to the theme park ‘terre mitica’ and for the first time ever I went on a drop ride 😀 it was very scary though
The flight home was just a normal Monarch Flight, although I flew home on the A321 Celebair aircraft which i was due to fly on the way out instead of on the inbound. There was not any celebair activity on this though. Was a relaxing and calm flight like Monarch Flights are always. 😀
Many thanks for reading 😀
Daniel.

Good report.
Personally, I thought the programme was a complete load of rubbish, not even fit for ITV2. Far too much waffle & the ‘celebrities’ were poor. I had only heard of Lisa which immediately made me lose interest. Hopefully it won’t return.

Nice report. Celebair was pretty bad wasn’t it. They showed more coverage after/before the flight than the actual flight itself which is slightly pointless.
Paul,
Quick search…
Johnny Shentall = From a Hear Say
Lisa Scott Lee = From Steps
Amy Lame = Presenter, comedian, model  (search for a pic you’ll understand the ), lesbian, club promoter, writer. Taken from Wikipedia.
Kenzia = From Blazin Squad
Dan O’Connor = From Neighbours (bring it back to BBC1! 😡 not like im a fan of Neighbours)

An interesting report, Daniel. Thanks for sharing, although I have to say I don’t have the slightest clue who any one of those ‘celebrities’ actually are!
