So I got to go again to the Central Air Force Museum at Monino, Moscow. The aircraft are looking more and more at risk and rumours are abound of them scrapping some or even closing at some point. A number of the aircraft have been hidden round the back.
Here is a selection, if you want to see more just ask… enjoy

G’day litzj, My wife and I are heading to Moscow in September and Monino is high on the list of things to do. Can you please tell me what the open days are for the museum and possibly times. I’ve a couple of different versions for these. Loved the photos also. Regards, SteveJ

I have fun days at Russia as one fan of jet fighters.
It is my first time to see Sukhoi and MiGs !!
Few pictures are uploaded in my blog to enjoy

You would have thought that with the resurgent nationalism in Russia and its softening attitude towards its Soviet years greater care would be taken of its aviation history.

It would be easy to get the support and funding needed to build a proper museum.
Really sad.

At first glance it’s wonderful to see some unique machines preserved – the V-12!!! – but then one sees the deterioration. I hope a solution can be found.
