Yep, G-MIND carries a LIDAR (laser) which measures flood plains from the air. I’ve flown in it! It would be doing passes to accurately measure tidal flows and the general hydrology of the area. The main aim is to asses the levels of erosion with the view to understanding the need for flood defences. The Cessna 404 used be in Air Atlantique colours but was refitted with Environment Agency livery as its on permanent lease to them.

G-MIND now belongs to RVL Group, the company formed from the management buy out of Atlantic Reconnaissance. It’s primary function is laser terrain mapping, but it also does the occasional photography and air quality sorties.
When you see those 3D models showing you your house is going flood on the news, the chances are it was created with data collected by G-MIND.
RVL also own or lease G-SOUL, G-BODY, G-HART, G-EYES, G-EXEX, G-TURF, G-NOSE, G-TASK and G-EGLT.

IIRC G-BODY and G-SOUL are/were Cessna 310’s belonging to Air Atlantique (or some form of that company) so I guess the mind, body and soul logic would mean that this belongs to them as well. I’m sure there’s someone keen enough to bother looking up on G-INFO.

Thank you NF that explains it presumably as there is a problem in the Deben Estuary/Felixstowe Ferry area with erosion, silting up of River Mouth and shifting shingle

The plane is on contract to the Environment Agency and is used for survey work.
