Greetings all!
7th/8th August 2004 is Chailey Airshow, Chailey East Sussex. Chailey was an ALG in support of D-Day with 3 squadrons of Polish Spitfires based there. So the airshow is on a genuine WW2 D-Day airfield (now farmland) where we’ll have an 1100m strip. This will be the closest that you’ll get to warbird flying and it’ll be a real treat. Check out http://www.chaileyairshow.com and email me art@spitfireart.com for more details. In the mornings we’ll have a vintage fly-in for 60 invited types, so some exciting old beasts! In the afternoons, we’ve got 3 Spitfires, 2 Hurricanes, 2 Mustangs, 4 Harvards, Thunderbolt, Storch/Cub act, Fokker Triplane, Me 109, aerobatic types and a whole lot more, a solid 3 hour display both days. Tickets £10 in advance, camping facilities nearby and accomodation can be booked. 01273 843749 07976 312058.

Hi Mike,
You don’t mean “the-upstart-show-that-took-over-from-the-much-loved-Classic-Fighter”, do you? :p
Not aware of any ‘TM’ on airshow names thank g*d.
Cheers

Looks like a very good line-up. Certainly one to add to this year’s list… I see Taff Smith’s Spitfire and Hurricane are being billed as the Black and Blue duo; PL965’s being put back into PR Blue then? Shame, I quite liked the pink… Still, it’ll be nice to see her back on the UK circuit. 😀

I’ve just booked in for it with the Colt.
(Sounds like a lot of fun)

I’ll have to think of something to tell Mrs Moggy.
Normandy, Arnhem, now this. 🙁

chailey 2004
This certainly will be a good show with about 85 aircraft on the ground, the vintage light stuff will all be pre 1960, no spam cans coming in. It’ll be good to pair up Carolyn Grace’s Spit and G-ACDC the oldest Tiger, both in Spit Ace of course. Whether actually possible is doubtful, but I’ll ask ’em both! Brendan O Brien is likely to be the commentator as well.
Keep checking the website page as I’ll be updating it soon.
