In a modern age where most people are far more tolerable than they used to be, whether skin, religion, or sexual orientation. Is it right that historical facts should be changed just to keep a few happy?

It has been mentioned in various newspaper articles that history is on the decline in schools, and that when asked pupils believe 9/11 was a retaliation of the invasion of Iraq, and that Hitler was the coach to Germany’s football team, can we afford to change history like this?
I’d like to think that, with the recent Bomber Command memorial finally being funded for, that we were finally giving them the respect they deserve. Not anymore, it seems this is one further disrespectful hit towards those, not only of 617 Squadron, but of Bomber Command and all those who lost thier lives for freedom.

“far more tolerable than they used to be”…. no they’re not. A tolerant society would allow us to use whatever logo’s, names and slang we felt like. For example, the word **** would appear in this sentence.
An acceptable society where we try to repect each others’ views with heavy compromise is the world we live in….. Its not changing history, just a minor adjustment…. unless of course, you learn all of your history from movies?… 😉
… anyway, Himmler was the nastiest linesman you could wish for…..

I have always taken findings like this in surveys to be a healthy sign that humour is not dead amongst modern youth, and that the people who conduct surveys are idiots
