Hey everybody.
I was just looking at airliners.net when I came across a thread about a KLM 763 catching fire on the landing runway. The runway has been closed and apparently the aircraft is still on it.
There is no solid information to say weather the aircraft is on fire or an engine etc.
Looking at the LHR departures board and there is minor delays of about an hour to a number of flights and Aer Lingus and British Airways have cancelled a number of services to Dublin,Manchester and Amsterdam.
Does any body have any further infomation???

[QUOTE=tenthije]I am also not convinced you could have seen 7 KLM flights Now 7 KLM flights during a full day is something I could believe.[QUOTE]
That is what I meant…over a course of one day.

The bmi arrived very late last night at 2250. 10 minutes later and would have gone to EGAA which is hell to get transport from at that time of night!

Ive seen 5 bmi aircraft in Dublin at once before. 4 A321s including the old star allaince colours. I think one had gone tech and there was a substantial delay on the other 2 and the 5th was a Fokker 100 when bmi still operated the EMA-DUB route.

Yup, they are on the website, but via AMS, there are no direct ones for sale, nor do BAA show them, nor Flytecomm.

KLM still has them on offer on their website. However, a few weeks ago there was a problem with the fligths. They used to be operated by KLM Exel, but when the EXEL aviation group collapsed so did KLM Exel. Some flights where cut, others with smaller equipment. Therefor perhaps no seats where available at short notice.

i mean maastricht. Should have used MST in my previous post.
Ah I see. I dont think there are any Maastricht-LHR flights any more, my Dad needed to go there a few weeks back and the only option anybody could find was via AMS?

On a normal day KLM has 9 flights from AMS, 3 flights from EIN, 2 flights from MAA and 3 flights from RTM. In total there are 17 KLM (cityhopper) flights per day on a normal weekday. In the weekend I believe there are fewer flights.
2 flights from MAA? Thats Madras!

I am also not convinced you could have seen 7 KLM flights at once all at LHR. Unless of course there where a lot of delays, but even then 7 seems a bit rich. Now 7 KLM flights during a full day is something I could believe.

I dont meen to be rude or anything but has you got seeing those aircraft at LHR have anything to do with them operating 2 daily 767s????
You said you seen 7 KLM aircraft at LHR at once. Im not doubting you but why were 7 of them there you be lucky to see 7 bmi aircraft at LHR sometimes during the day.
By: Airline owner - 11th May 2005 at 20:49
Ye I think somebody said that KLM operate 2 flight a day from AMS from LHR with 767s.
Last time I was at LHR, I saw:
PH-BZI-B767-300
PH-BDB-B737-300
PH-BXM-B737-800
PH-BXR-B737-900
I have seen 7 KL flights at LHR once.

According to Dutch radio news (Yorin FM) the KLM plane had a brake failure. The brake got stuck and now the plane will not move. No fire at all. No wounded, just a lot of pissed of people. Those people will be rebooked on the next KLM flight.
No word on the CX flight, but that’s to be expected since it is not really relevant for NL.

All of the flights from NCL have been cancelled is there still a problem or has the aircraft been moved?
By: SHAMROCK321 - 11th May 2005 at 16:57

Does KL routinely send 767’s to LHR?
