Charles Masefield and P-51D N6356T

Earlier this year I went by a newsagent and found a magazine with an article regarding Masefield and N6356T. Due to several reasons I didn’t buy the rag but planned to do so later. Best laid plans went to a certain place, and I never got it. The thing is this, I can’t even remember which title the magazine was. Anyone knows?

I remember seeing Masefield’s Mustang overflying Kidlington in 1968 just as I was completing my PPL. A couple of years ago in South Africa I was being shown around a Mustang and, when climbing in to the cockpit, realised it was the same machine.

There’s a free digital off of the Aeroplane listed, in the stickies, that has an article in it about Charles Masefield.

Yeah, he was apparently very bored one day after university wondering what to do with his life, so bought a cargo airline. Such a different world to me!!

It was Aeroplane.

I don’t have it to hand at the moment, and cannot recall which month it was.

Oh, just discovered it’s in a pile of mags nearby – August 2017 issue.

(The cover has Hurricanes R4118 & P3717 on it).

Cheers

Paul
